international student/ worker

I have a friend from Quebec, Canada who has passed high school and currently has a diploma in aircraft assembly, now working as an aircraft structural technician. I am trying to help them as they would like to move to the uk but whilst researching it has been a bit difficult to find what jobs they could do. They would like to go into NDT work so I had suggested possibly a degree apprenticeship in NDT engineering but not sure how that would work. They aren’t necessarily looking for a degree nor specific jobs in NDT but it looked like a possible option, does anyone know what sort of jobs my friend could be looking for? Is it possible to find more than an entry level job?
