Are A levels and BTEC level 3 the same?

No. BTECs are vocational qualifications and are designed to train people for specific vocations (e.g. health and social care for nursing or social work). A levels are academic qualifications designed for people who wish to undertake further study and ideally, progress into higher education (university). A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma would be equivalent to 3 A levels, but it is not the same as 3 A levels.
