Urgent Assistance Needed for CAS and Student ID

Hi, I need help! My daughter has been accepted by Durham and is an international student. We have completed the enrollment and registration and also paid the advance rent. However, up to now, we haven’t received the CAS or Pre-CAS. I need it urgently for her student visa and to book my flight. My daughter has already emailed the admissions office but has not received a response. What can I do to get the CAS, and who should I contact?

Additionally, my daughter hasn’t received her student ID and password after enrollment and registration. How can she register for her modules on September 1st? What should I do?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hey there

I was an international student too so totally understand your situation. Back when I applied in 2021, I received my pre-CAS about 22 days after I sent proof of my grades to the university, and the CAS about 3-4 days after pre-CAS. Some people received theirs before mine, while others received it afterwards so it really is just a time game.

I would suggest getting in touch with the regional reps of your country - you can find their details here - Regional Information. Send them an email explaining your situation and maybe they can expedite the process for you. Also, I'd recommend filling out the Ask Us form on the website as it is monitored by the admissions team. Try and explain your situation well and clearly mention why an expedited CAS would help you. They are trying very hard to coordinate with UKVI who are flooded with CAS requests from unis across the UK at this time so it inevitably takes some time - but if you give strong reasons as to why you need yours faster (eg, how it may impact you financially), maybe they can process yours first.

Regarding the student ID, I'm slightly confused. You can only enrol after you have received your student ID and password, so if you've already enrolled, that means your daughter has her login details. To select her module choices, she'll need to use those login details to log into Banner Self-Service and select her modules. If she faces problems doing that, her department should be her first point of contact for any enquiries. Their email can be found on the course page on the Durham website. This page offers more guidance: Becoming a Durham Student

Hope that helps

Hey, you're right - I don't think the website is updated with details for East and South Asia. I would say send an email to the closest regional rep - try China and South East Asia reps. They would definitely be able to signpost you to the correct reps for Hong Kong

Hiya,

The username and password you received are used to log into banner self service for enrolment and registration and selecting modules. 🙂

Okay, noted. That means if she logs in on September 1st, she can see her core modules and select her own time slot, right?

Really thanks for your great help!
