Need accom recommendations in Birmingham for an introvert

Hi, I’m starting uni in September at Aston. I am doing a foundation year, however so idk if I really want to be around loads of 1st years this year. Any recommendations for quiet accommodation? I’m looking at Onyx but I’ve heard it’s terrible

Hey,

I’ve lived in both Lakeside and Jennens Court and spent a considerable amount of time in the Old Fire Station, University Locks and Staniforth House. Personally, i’d rank them like:

1.

Jennens Court

2.

Old Fire Station

3.

University Locks

4.

Staniforth House

5.

Lakeside

During my first year (22-23) there was a stabbing in both Staniforth and Lakeside (when i was living there…) but violent crime dropped significantly in my second year and i heard nothing. This is because police presence was increased and both accommodations started taking security seriously.

Locks is nice quality and very safe but its quite out of the way and the staff are a bit overbearing. Fire Station is quite a unique set up and i really like it in there but it’s the most expensive of the bunch, but Jennens Court remains affordable and i literally never had a single problem or concern in terms of safety or anything whilst i was there, and have never heard of such. People almost entirely keep to themselves except in the courtyard when they’re drunk 🙂 (this was usually us last year though)! As accom goes it gets it right, being further away from the dodgier area that Staniforth and Onyx are in, can’t say i can recommend onyx at all i’ve not heard many good things.

Hello I am currently trying to re let my studio for September at Compass Accommodation. The start date would be as soon as you are ready

It is a studio so would definitely be quiet as well as close to all of the universities

If you are interested pop me a message

That’s good to hear because I ended up choosing the old fire station. Thanks for the response
