Help me pick a uni

hi honeys!!

I’ve been a bit of silly girl and only recently discovered that I didn’t want to go to the uni I accepted an offer from. As a result, today I hastily rang up some clearing lines and now i’m completely stuck between choosing Liverpool John Moores, York St John, or Lincoln. Any help or further info about any of these unis would be super appreciated <33

Hi!

What course have you applied for at YSJ? I did my undergraduate and currently doing my masters at YSJ, i'm happy to answer any questions you may have about studying and being a student at YSJ.

Hi,

I would definitely recommend you book onto a open day or campus tour, as it's the best way to see if YSJ is for you and you get a chance to see all the specialist areas, as well as talk to the lecturers. However, I realise that this may not be possible! This is a link to the Campus Tour video on YouTube, although, it is now slightly out of date, due to areas being renovated over summer. https://youtu.be/COpdPX88Oc0?si=zBZJag7awfgbsoxJ

The Campus itself is beautiful. It is located in the city centre, you are able to walk into town within about 5/10 minutes. As YSJ students we graduate it in the York Minster, which is just amazing and such a lovely day to be able to celebrate getting your degree, in such a majestic building.

YSJ has a law clinic, in which all law students will have the opportunity to get involved with. Time spent in the YSJ Law Clinic counts towards the two years’ QWE that you need to accrue before qualifying as a solicitor, therefore potentially reducing the period between graduation and admission to the roll of solicitors.

This is a YouTube video that explains more about studying Law at YSJ: https://youtu.be/5YCnMNwwl-4?si=0GlIO5YWLsnNNhCk

This is a link to the students union, and will show you what sort of things you can get involved with outside your course. I definitely would recommend joining and sport or society, as its good way to meet new people outside of your course, alongside a way to relax and try out something new.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you want any more information or have any other questions. I did my undergraduate in Professional Policing and have friends who have graduated from the law degree

None of them are any great shakes for Law so you just need to pick the city / Uni where you think you will be happiest. Have a look on YouTube for campus tours of the Unis, and tourist films for the cities.
Hi!

Is it Law you're considering studying at LJMU as well? 😃

If so, I would have a look through the course page and consider things like module choices, assessment methods etc as these things will likely differ slightly between unis, so you can choose what would suit you best!

What is really special about Law at LJMU though is that you can observe real law in action from Semester 2 of your first year. The core module in your first year (level 4) 'Law in Society' is delivered by our award-winning Legal Advice Centre and means you will gain invaluable insight into the pro-bono work that we are proud to undertake, attending solicitor interviews with clients and helping to support access to justice in our city. he Legal Advice Centre is something you can be part of all the way through to your final year of study.

As for the city, Liverpool is great for students! StudentCrowd named it the Best Student City in the UK, and UniCompare have ranked it 2nd university in the UK.. There's loads to do, and everyone in Liverpool is so friendly!

If you have any questions, let us know! 😊
