Hi. There could be a lot of reasons, but here are some based on my experience of trying to loose weight

1.

Not enough time has passed. You have to burn more calories than you consume, it's true, but it takes a lot of time to start working

2.

You might not be losing weight, but do you, perhaps, look thinner? It happened to me a few times, I worked out a lot and I actually gained weight but looked much thinner

3.

Your body might be storing water since it's summer and it's hot in Istanbul

4.

Could be due to genetics or hormonal changes

Hope this helps. You might want to consult a specialist about this , though.

If you are habitually undereating your body will start holding onto everything it can.

To an extent, yes, the body will reduce metabolic rate for some non essential processes. For example you might feel less warm, or might feel less urge to fidget. But in the end the body can't hold onto fat when you need that energy to stay alive. It will get used.

I think this is simply a matter of not enough time. 1kg of fat holds 7,700 kcals. So to lose 1kg of fat over a week long holiday, you'd have to be in a deficit of 1,100 kcals per day. This is a very large deficit. With all that walking you probably did lose body fat, but 1kg easily gets hidden within daily fluctuations of body weight. For me, if I get up in the morning and need to **** really bad, I easily drop 1kg just from going to the toilet.

Thanks. In that thread those are normal daily fluctuations, measured over the course of 3 days. It takes much longer than that to see measurable differences in body fat. And turns out the original poster is already medically underweight anyway so not that surprising it's proving difficult to lose even more.
Same😭😭 I went Istanbul, barely ate, walked sm and I gained weight- how does this work???
