Lights are not allowed in QMUL student rooms????

So I was reading the prohibited items list for what you can’t bring to your room in queen mary university of London and it says that you cannot bring Mains powered decorative lighting e.g. fairy lights. What counts as decorative lighting because I was planning to bring my own mains powered lamp, another mains powered lamp but a bit different because it is in the shape of a C with a floating globe in it (doesn’t give out a lot of light), and some RGB LED strip lights.

Also, I will be living in Feilden house. Can anyone tell me how Feilden house is and if we are allowed to put up anything on the walls. Would you be charged if you put something up on the wall using blue tack and it left a mark?

Those lights might technically fall foul of the rules but these rules are not really policed, as long as you don't cause a fire!

Might be a good idea to put them away if you have a room inspection scheduled but even then, they rarely care. Rice cookers were forbidden too but my flat had like three of them in plain display in the kitchen and nobody cared.
