Stressing out about GCSE Edexcel French...

I'm going into year 11, and I am predicted all 7-9s except in French, where I am predicted a 3. And I think that 3 was being generous from my teachers... I really want to get a 5 or higher in French, but I don't know how to revise or study for it! I tried some past papers (my teachers forced me to do higher tier), but they were impossibly hard and I'm stressing out because I'm worried that failing a GCSE will stop me from getting accepted at my first choice 6th form and medicine.

Can someone please help me out? Where do I start??

Thanks
Learn vocabulary- find some flashcards for your exam board on quizlet, anki or StudySmarter and do them regularly. In year 11 I did vocab at least every other day and it really helped.
Do Duolingo- i know it doesn’t sync which the course but at least its consistent practice of a lot of the skills you need.
Don’t do practice papers the way i assume you have been- read through the paper and highlight any words you dont understand. Then translate them and make a vocabulary set on quizlet/anki/studysmarter of all the words you didnt know. Once you’re familiar with them, then do the paper. I know that you obviously cant do this for the real exam but i found it to be an effective way to learn more new vocab and practice exam technique.

Okay, this advice is really good- thank you so much!

If I do an hour or 2 every morning every day for year 11 until the exams will that be enough to get a grade 5?

If it’s good quality revision then absolutely yes!
