I have graduated with 1st class law degree but can't a job

I really regret choosing law, I wish I had chosen something science related like nursing as there are many job opportunities. Does anyone feel lost after uni and feel the pressure of others getting jobs relating to their degree.

Law

they mean what university
What type of job would you like to do? Do you wish to practise as a lawyer, or work in some other field? Which university did you graduate from, and how long ago?

I really don't know what I want to do at this stage and that's stressing me out too. I graduated from Aston uni and graduated this year but since applying to any jobs including customer service jobs or anything I have had no luck at all. I feel like law is not for me anymore I regret choosing it to be honest i was only 17 when I applied for it. We are soo young when we make these choices and we don't fully know what we want to do..

i feel the same way lol its crazy how schools push u to go to uni and then im like..well sh-t i dont really wanna do this anymore and everything just falls apart

im in year 2 but im doing software engineering but am thinking of going into accounting lmao

that or just try and get some entry level admin job and maybe work up 😆
(luckily grad schemes dont care what degree u do hopefully 🙂 )

i got so many ideas of what i want to be i feel maybe a gap year wouldve been better but its too late for that now :/
Do you have any work experience at all? That seems like it might be a start, even if it’s an entry level admin job. If you aren’t sure about a career in law then maybe move away from that for now.

If you don’t have any work experience then it might be a case of trying to get some even if it’s something like working in retail or hospitality, or similar. It’s usually hard to find jobs if you’ve got no work experience at all.

Good luck.
Have you considered the Civil Service? NGOs? Charities? Teaching?

What are your interests?

Choices made at seventeen don't determine your life chances, and with a law degree you could seek a career in more or less anything that doesn't require STEM expertise.

Also, it's only a few months since you graduated. It can take a while to find the first graduate job. Keep on applying. Good luck!

Thank you, that is true! It just gets a bit overwhelming and scary when uni is finished and you feel the urgency of finding a job.

Thank you 😊 I am applying to every possible job at the moment it's just so difficult there's so many graduates, people with work experience and less jobs ..

It seems a lot tougher out there these days for graduates than it’s ever been. So many grads applying for entry level jobs.

As SB says maybe try the civil service. That might be a good starting option if you can get in.
