Hi there,

Any other readers are free to reply, but this is the information we have on the bursary here.

Thanks, Graeme

Thanks Graeme. The conditions and max amount seem to vary by institution. My daughter is one of the relatively small number of students accepted to a performing arts school in the DaDA scheme, in her case Oxford School of Drama. The DaDA will probably cover the fees so she probably won’t need ALL or Loan Bursary (max £1k pa).

But while a DaDA to cover the fees is obviously brilliant, we are a modest income family (also in the arts), and our daughter’s living costs will be a bit of a struggle.
It seems curious that DaDA students don’t have access to SLC loans for maintenance like other students. This (plus the fact the DaDA income bands haven’t changed in what, twenty years?) seems designed to exclude a lot of students from households like ours and to risk turning these schools into places only the wealthy can access. Moreover the DaDA application process is entirely paper-based and cumbersome. So I think the scheme, while excellent in many respects, is also more than overdue an update.

Hi there, We have no part of the funding available to students. We only have access to the link. Thanks, Angela
