Advice of application process

Does anyone who has applied to AEP for the EP doctorate recently, have any tips on the application process?
I believe I meet the criteria stipulated by AEP- I just got a 1st for my Psych degree which enables me to have BPS graduate membership, prior to my degree I spent 5 years as an LSA working with 3-11 year olds. I also did a 12 week placement with a SENDCo during the 2nd year of my degree and during my 3rd year I worked in a secondary school supporting SEND 16-18 yr olds with their independent study. No assistant EP roles were available in my area and up to 60 miles away so whilst I wait to apply for the doctorate I am staying at my current school working as an LSA again but across the whole school with ages 11-18.
I think on paper I have good experience and have had plenty of chats with EPs over the years. However the EPs I know qualified a number of years ago and couldn't necessarily give me up to date tips of the actual application process and what to expect on the forms so any advice from recent experiences would be appreciated.
