You can, it just makes little sense to do it without AL Maths.

Physics is somewhat mathematical, and you can use it as an A Level to apply for some degrees that either asks for Maths/Physics or one of the sciences e.g. a number of degrees in life sciences, healthcare, earth sciences, and computer science. However, a lot of degrees would expect you to have A Level Maths alongside it especially if it's mathematical e.g. physics, most areas in engineering.

You would use a number of the mathematical concepts that you would learn in AL Maths, and for most people it just makes more sense to have them both as opposed to just physics.

All tho there is very little crossover between the two, it makes no sense to study physics without maths. Every uni course essentially requires maths to study physics, and any engineering course will also require maths. If you don’t want either of those degrees then you can with the correct other options. It completely depends what you want to do. If you want to study sciences you will definitely need a second science subject.
