Absolutely you can! I was in the exact same position at you. You have amazingly high grades for someone at a quintile 2 area. Don't let the ucat prevent you from applying. If you are still in year 12 pls apply to the A2B scheme at the university of Birmingham. You will get a guaranteed interview if you apply. Please let me know how it goes x

thank you so much for the reassurance, i was worried my grades weren’t good enough 😅. unfortunately im not eligible for the a2b scheme because i’ve attended a grammar school since year 7 and my school wasn’t a partner school. so far the only university i’d be eligible for a contextual offer with my low ucat is leeds and maybe cardiff but im worried my ucat isn’t good enough for those unis. i’ll try do some more research into other unis with contextual offers and i’ll keep you updated, i can’t thank you enough i feel a bit better now and less stressed out 💗💗

Hello,matchalover1234
The short answer is yes you can apply but you need to be smart on what universities will accept you and give you an interview. As your ucat score is in the bottom 2/3 decile rank it really does limit your options. I would apply to Cardiff as they will be able to accept you as the UCAT threshold is more flexible, don’t get me wrong but i do not think theres a cut off point, but they expect really good grades. You can research other unis but i think dundee, liverpool and leeds!! It isnt the end of the world if you do not get any rejections!! You can reapply or do an undergrad than do graduate dentistry!! I did undergrad pharma and then did dentistry!! I had worse grades than you, If i can do it than u can too!! Good luck with your journey!

hiya, yeah im open to the idea of a gap year if i don’t get any offers but i wanted to at least try apply for 2025 entry, i was hoping to apply to those exact unis and also apply to access for leeds!! im not sure if my gcse grades are good enough to balance my low ucat but ig i need to have a really good personal statement. congrats on getting into postgrad dentistry it’s really difficult and thank you sm🥰

during an open day leeds said 2700 was their cut off point but it’s not fixed, just make sure not to apply to ucat unis that rank students based on ucat (bristol, birmingham, sheffield. KCL considers gcse + ucat, but it is very competitive. maybe look at newcastles PARTNERS programme if ur WP

Hi, do they consider a lower cut off for contextual?
