PGCE after M Phil in English

I have done M Phil in English M Ed and M Sc zoology. I have applied for MRES in Education in UK. I want advice as if I want to do PGCE, which pgce should i apply for? Primary or secondary? Which subject should i chose for PGCE? Do I need to clear GCSE math in any case? Plz guide
Which pgce should i apply for? Primary or secondary?

It depends on what age you want to teach. Primary, you will teach all subjects and won't need a specialist degree. Secondary, you will teach your specialism based on your undergraduate degree but QTS means you can teach anything as long as you can prove your knowledge of the subject.

Which subject should i chose for PGCE?

You'll either do a primary PGCE depending on the age you want to teach. For secondary it will be the one you can prove your subject knowledge in, so undergraduate degree mostly - some unis will be happy if you have A Levels in the subject and ask you to do an additional short course (SKE).

Do I need to clear GCSE math in any case?

Yes, no matter what route you choose, you need GCSE in English Language and Maths - or equivalent. For primary, you also need science.

Plz guide

There is pretty much no demand for primary teachers at the moment; they will still take on students, but it's much harder to find a job afterwards. Some secondary subjects have an additional bursary depending on your undergraduate to encourage people to teach those subjects.
