Why's this happening to me?

Today, during Economics class (school), my teacher let's call him E) started teaching about PES.
As we all know, PES is always positive. After telling us this, he asked about PED's sign. Everyone in my class said Negative, I was the only one who said both Positive and Negative (I wanted to say that it's almost always Negative, but at that moment, it came out like that).
He looked at me for a while with an unreadable expression. I thought that he was going to ask me to elaborate it.
But this E just stared with those creepy eyes, "Are you planning to drop eco?"
This made me froze. I wasn't expecting this at all. I love eco, I plan to study eco as my major. I'm very sensitive about this subject.
But the way he said it completely broke my heart. "Study, study seriously or drop this subject."
My family's situation isn't currently well, I'm in a lot of stress because of that, and I'm hearing this from E.
Then he started saying how our seniors got bad grades in this subject in AS and A2, and how hard it is and kept looking at me like that.
At that moment, I started to rethink, am I wrong? Is PED always Negative?
After the class, I kind of looked it up, and it turns out I was right; PED can be Positive, but it's an exception. My wording may be a bit wrong, but that doesn't mean that my logic wasn't correct. He could've corrected me politely, instead of saying that.
What do you guys think? Am I overreacting?

He sounds like a bad teacher, he shouldn't have acted like that. I'd try not to stress it if I were you and maybe talk to a different more trusted teacher about what happened

The fact is, my parents are forcing me to attend the school. They did the exact thing with me in my O levels; they, hearing my seniors, forced me to go to the coaching classes. I begged them, saying that I'm having trouble coping up with all my subjects. They used to scream at me, uk. And as a result, I didn't receive any good o level grades (they were average; I have the capabilities of getting all A*s but look at me; I had some family problems too at that time.)
My school lacks good teachers. There are barely 2 good teachers in each grade, the rest all jealous of their success, their degrees.
Good Economics teacher in our school will be like a lottery ticket. The teacher in my coaching is a man full of degrees and immense reputation in this field. He's known as a legend (more like a fallen legend now as sth bad happened to him and he almost quit teaching until recently). He's a high court criminal lawyer, teacher of 3 different schools with a VERY high salary and all his degrees were from our country's best institute.

If he says that PED can be Positive, I think that it'll be rare for him to make a mistake in something he's been doing for almost 30+ years. He indeed said that it's an exception but other than that, it's Negative. So being his student, I'll indeed say what he said.

But this teacher E, idk where he graduated from or how far he's studied this subject (if he was that great, we'd have known about his achievements). This thing, as a teacher he should know that whatever I said was right. Since my wording was a bit incorrect, he should've corrected me instead of saying that. What was the point of that?
