Look into unis that are very gcse heavy such as Nottingham and UEA. Your UCAT is good so you can apply most places but I would be careful about applying to places like Bristol/ any of the previous BMAT universities.

Hi, thinking of applying to Manchester, Sheffield, Hull and then looking at Liverpool or Leeds.

Was looking at Cardiff but 23 GCSE cut off was 27 points which is 9 GCSE at grade 8/9

Sheffield website says UCAT cut off for 23 was 2850 and then says for 24 cut off was 2440

Usually cut offs increase each year but I think you should still be in the clear for Sheffield. Maybe look into previous years before 23
Id say make sure you apply to at least two unis where you definitely meet the criteria for gcse and UCAT and you can apply to a “risky” one if you would like to.

Thanks for the advice. If anyone else is able to advise would appreciate it.

Hi
I've got a UCAT score of 2820 Band 2
In my GCSE's I got eight 9's and one 8
My predicted is 4 A* in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology

I want to apply to Cambridge, Kings, Queen Mary's
Is this unrealistic, if so which unis should I apply to?
Thanks

Hi, this is just a guess but you have a good set of results so you should be fine for kings and Queen Mary’s for sure. I think Cambridge might be a little risky as we don’t know their cut off but it’s likely to be very high but I would still apply if I were you especially since you do 4 a levels.

Thank you so much.
Yeah that’s what I’m a bit concerned about, because my UCAT is a bit on the lower side, but I was hoping the rest of my stuff would carry me, and hopefully I do get invited to interview.
But I’m also a bit worried about Queen Mary and Kings because I’ve heard they have high UCAT scores, sorry for asking again but do you think I would invited for interview if I apply?
Thank you so so much

I do think you have a good chance at getting an interview from those two unis. I’m pretty sure kings also looks holistically at your application and I’ve heard that the lowest UCAT that got an interview was 2600 ish?
However no one knows what Cambridge will be. I think to be super safe for Cambridge you would need at least 3000+

Okay this is helpful I might consider an application, and yeah Cambridge looks a bit too risky thank you so much for replying.
