Starting my A Levels

I’m about to go into year 12 and despite the GCSEs not being like amazing, I will still be aiming for at a minimum A*AA.

Does anyone have any tips for the beginning of year 12 to make sure that I give myself a really good start to ensure that I can get those top grades at the end of year 13

Also I am going to be studying biology chemistry and psychology, however, I may change psychology to maths but I only got a 7 in maths so I’m not sure it will be the best idea.

For context… my gcse grades:
9-8 combined science
8 history
7 maths
6 English language
6 English literature
6 religious studies
5 business
5 Spanish
3 food tech

Hi I just finished year 12 and I think my best advice would be, depending on how much homework you have for the following day, when you get home from school, revise what you have learnt that day e.g. making mind maps, flash cards, basic revision notes or maybe past paper questions. This is so that the stuff you’ve learnt that day stays fresh in your mind and also so that by the time, exams come around, you’ve already made all your revision notes for them, and so instead of using up revision time making revision materials you can just revise. This may sound a lot but I can promise you you’ll thank yourself by the time exams come around, just because of the sheer amount of content there is at A Levels, especially with psychology, chemistry and biology are all very content heavy - most science subjects are, you really don’t want to be rushing to make revision notes because it will be very overwhelming. I’d also suggest sticking with not changing to maths and just sticking with psychology because some friends who got an 8 in maths still really struggled with it this year. Hope this helps  and good luck for this year!!!

Hi! im in the same boat as you in year 11 with similar slightly higher grades. what i did was make a tsr post but for each individual section asking for advice, i got loads i have a doc with about 10 pages on them so write them down, figure out what methods work for you for each subject and look at yt videos from ppl like yanran, i know im in the same year as you but this really helped me feel more confident for this week.
