GCSE

Basically my school’s sixth form

To study in the Sixth , a minimum score of 40 points from 8 GCSEs including a minimum of grade 4 in both English and Maths, is required.

How does the grades to points thing work- im very confused

Going into yr 11 in 2 days- yr 10 mock results were

English 55
Maths 4 (7 marks off a 5)
Science 55
Geography 6
German 4 (one mark of a 5)
Spanish 5 (made me do foundation, doing higher next time)
Art 3 (i hate art and didn’t finish my final piece)

These mocks i did minimal revision due to mental health and stuff…

But please explain grade point things..

Given that all your GCSEs are graded using numbers rather than letters, you just sum the highest 8 numbers:

5+5+4+5+5+6+4+5 = 39

If those were you scores from your Year 10 mocks, then you only have 1 point to gain (presumably by gaining 1 extra mark in German) in the real GCSEs.
