Donā€™t let your teachers scare you into thinking your school will go fast, it will, but donā€™t let it get to you, take it at your own pace! If you start your GCSEs this year, keep your notes organised! It will be so helpful in the future
in year 9, most of all just enjoy it. when you are learning content, make sure you understand it to the best of your ability and if not, ask your teacher. keep up with your homework as that will definitely help you for year 10 and 11. most of all, just enjoy this year!

If your school starts teaching part of the GCSE spec in year 9 - MAKE YOUR NOTES EARLY!! It will save you so so so much time in year 10 and 11 and if you manage to get your head around the basics, everything else will seem much easier.
But if not, I'd say take the year as a tester year - see how you best learn and make good friendships. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and relax! You don't have any big deadlines for a while so appreciate the peace of mind šŸ˜€

Make sure to do all your homework
Ask your teachers if you dont understand something or watch YouTube videos til you get it
Learn how you revise best
Start thinking about what you wanna do when you leave school and your gcse options

my big regret from yr9 was not making revision notes/flashcards (whatever works best for you) for every test. chances are the content you do this year will be linked to or part of the gcse course for the subject, so making detailed revision notes (and not losing them, which i ended up doing for some subjects) saves a loooot of time when it comes to exam season, even if its just for a small end of topic test.
also try and find a revision method that works best for you (e.g. flashcards/past papers/mind maps) so you dont have to faff around working all that stuff out at the last minute when the revision really matters
lmk if u need any help with stuff id be more than happy to

Hi im now in year 10 and honestly just chill. Dont stress as the next years are gonna be much harder. Just make sure you do good in your end of years to get into set 1/2 so you get higher next year. No need to prepare for gcses as wether you start now or in year 10 you will prob get the same results. If you want to start i would suggest start be doing the science spec especially if you want to do triple science
