BTEC or a level

So I retook my gcse for bio and chem gcse and got 7,6 so I could do a level but idk if I should pick BTEC or a level because my gcse are too low for medicine so I was thinking of doing a foundation year medicine and I was thinking that even if I do a levels my gcse are too low for normal medicine as it is so competitive

I'm not sure I follow your logic. You're saying that you might not do A levels (and will presumably go down the BTEC route instead) because you think your GCSEs are not good enough for a competitive medicine application. Have I got that right?

Now that you've retaken a couple of GCSEs, and so have the option of taking A levels, what have your GCSE grades go to do with whether you decide to go down the A level of BTEC rout?. I don't see the connection.

Sorry so what I wanted to say was now I meet the entry requirements to do a levels but even if I do well in them I might not get in normal medicine because of how competitive and the fact that a lot of uni don’t accept gcse resits so either way if I do a level or BTEC I’ll probably have to do a foundation year so I wanted to ask if I should do a levels anyway and apply to uni that don’t care about gcse that much or go the BTEC route and do a foundation year

Personally, I would have thought that attempting to apply for Medicine with BTECs would be more of an issue than applying with GCSE resits; applying with both sounds like it's going to be very tough.

However, the whole Medicine application process is something of a dark art, and is not something which which I'm overly familiar. Can I suggest you have a read through the following threads and perhaps post a message there for a more knowledgeable response?
