My type.. well I've discussed it jokingly with work colleagues or friends but if I had to point out themes or actually what I would like to see in a partner:
Personality

•

Definitely a nerd in some way - sharing some interests in anime, games, comics, or even books/poetry

•

A sense of humour - honestly though I prefer some mischief or spontaneity too. I can be quite silly, so would appreciate someone who finds that fun too.

•

Chatty, easy to talk to... also not boring in conversation🤣. I hate small talk.. well not all of it... but I like to have deep conversations or go on random funny tangents, etc.

•

Intelligent... in way they can enjoy puzzles, poetry/reading, converse meaningfully about media or things we can enjoy together... but I don't need Einstein.

•

Thoughtful and considerate, especially without being asked to. This is something I see as quite important, as my long term ex-boyfriend could be kind and empathetic, but did show less of this towards me. Someone who respects my boundaries 🙂

Self-awareness (something I want to see more)

Physical aspects

•

Preferably brunette

•

Some facial hair is cool, or none at all... but not a full on bushy beard. Its too itchy :frown:

I'm more on the side of having shorter hair in a boyfriend, but wouldn't mind a bit longer if it was styled nicely. Like if it was swishy curls 😉

•

I prefer more cute in the face than like.. really masculine.

•

I do find myself liking glasses (phwoar) but not absolutely needed in the ensemble.

•

Taller than me (5ft, 2in) but not much additional height needed.

•

Not too thin, I do need something to cuddle. I'm not stick thin myself, so muscles and thin only would make me self-conscious.

•

😉 Nice butt would be nice, oooh and good shoulders.

it’s so astonishing to me (in a good way) how some people can lay out in so much detail what they would want in an ideal partner…whereas i have SO much trouble naming even just one thing 😖

i’m glad to see at least some appreciation for nerdier people lol…i’m feeling quite self-conscious about most of the other things on your list though haha

🫠I've just had my life experiences tell me how I feel about people I suppose. I grew up being bullied a lot, so I learned quickly about people.. and the kind of people I want around me. Same thing about romantic relationships. Don't get me wrong, it isn't fool proof. It might be that I meet someone who doesn't meet all these, or is something I didn't know I liked.. that's the kind of pleasant surprise with love tbf

You don't need to be worried about not being some of these things, everyone has their own tastes and preferences... So there's going to be someone looking for your sort of traits too!

im really sorry to hear that. i was bullied a ton growing up as well, and i feel like its something that impacted me deeply and to some extent still holds me back today for whatever reason...i just wish i could have someone to talk to regarding those experiences who can relate :frown:

would you like to be friends? i totally understand if not tho 🥲

i kinda also feel the same way as you, i dont really have a list of things im looking for and if i end up falling in love i guess thats about it. but who knows, maybe im actually the opposite way and id be super picky when it comes to finding someone to love lol

We could totally be friends! I'm not online all the time but can chat anyways! Sometimes I feel the same.. like no matter what I feel rubbish about myself because of those annoying internalised beliefs 🙃
