Medicine without biology?

Is there any chance I could apply for medicine at uni with good grades in A level Chemistry, Physics and Maths.
If so which unis? I'm assuming there's no hope of getting into Oxbridge or a Russell group without biology.

Hi there, actually, you could get into Oxbridge without A Level Biology! Granted, you may find the course/interview a little difficult so would need to brush up on your GCSE biology knowledge and perhaps do some wider reading, but most universities only really require A Level Chemistry for their medicine courses. Do some research online or email the admissions teams of universities you'd like to target.
Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice, from what I've seen it is possible but I'd be at a disadvantage. It can be done though

There are a variety of subjects that medical schools want.

Some want chemistry, some biology, and several both.

Have a look here OP.

There is barely any biology knowledge in the interview, and if there was anything it was very low level (a toddler would get it)! Also managed to get a med offer at ARU so I'm gassed w that too

i dont think u can do dentistry without chemistry AT all and even medicine i’m almost certain for the small amount of unis that dont need chemistry you need either maths or physics instead i.e a second science :frown: pls dont let that put you off med and instead take a gap year and teach yourself all of chemistry a level!

again, there’s only a few foundation years and i don’t think there’s any that only need a single science but i might be wrong; you can teach yourself chemistry a level by doing AS content right after august till around October time and then December-April do A2 content and simultaneously do past papers when learning the content, then all of April-June can be spent going over all the content and doing lots of past papers which will guarantee you an A as long as you’re disciplined; you can also apply that same year and put a level chemistry as a pending grade and write in your reference that you’re learning it yourself and get a predicted grade for it.

actually you might wanna spend july-september revising for the ucat as well and then keep in mind october you submit the personal statement, around january-april you’ll have interviews but it shouldn’t be too hard to balance with a levels as long as you have the right support network and coping mechanisms i.e maintaining the work-life balance (besides academics get a few hobbies, volunteer, see if there’s a fun part time job eg being a teacher assistant)
