St andrews or Aberdeen for Med and why?
Aberdeen is more likely to offer an interview compared to st andrews but personally st andrews is better for the course. Aberdeen has a lower ucat with the cut off for last year being around 2350 whilst st andrews was a higher ucat and cut off around 2550 I think, not to sure abt st andrews. The student life in both will be similar as they're both in small towns. It's honestly up to what you prefer and would want for the course.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Thanks very much for your interest in studying with us! I won't be able to advise too much on St Andrews in comparison to us but I can certainly provide some information on Aberdeen and our Medicine course.

The best way to find out about our Medicine MBChB programme is to have a look at the course page on our website for more information about what you will be able to study with us in the course: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/degree-programmes/796/A100/medicine-5-years/
You can have a look at the academic and non-academic requirements by following this link: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/smmsn/undergraduate/medicine/entrance-requirements.php

You can also have look over some information about Foresterhill, our medical campus which is based next to hospital in Aberdeen, here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/about/campus/foresterhill-390.php

It terms of Aberdeen compared to St Andrews as locations I would say there are differences. The universities are a central feature of both places and we both have ancient campuses but Aberdeen's is within a city where as St Andrews is a small town. Aberdeen being a bit bigger has some more public facilities (shopping centres, sports facilities, cinemas etc.) available and public transport access to the north of Scotland. St Andrews is however a lot closer to Edinburgh and so if having access to a large city was important to you then there's that to consider. It's definitely worth weighing up these factors of what's important to you about where you study as well when you're making your choices!

Anyway I hope this information was useful, and if you'd like to get a better picture of being a student we have the option to ask questions to current students here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/student-life/student-chat.php
If you have any more questions please just let me know!

Aberdeen is the 3rd biggest city in Scotland and its population is more than 10 times bigger than that of St Andrews...
