Hi! I'm Scarlett  Thank you for setting up this thread!
1) I am doing Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science at A Level.
2) I'm planning on applying for BSc Economics. I love Economics because of the impact it has on people, I'm really interested in macroeconomics and the impact policies can have on citizens of a country!
3) I got 9999999887 at GCSE and A (highest grade) in FSMQ - I have extenuating circumstances for GCSEs so hopefully they won't be hugely annoyed that I don't have all 9s. I have 4 predicted A*s.
4) I absolutely love the huge selection of optional modules available at LSE and I love that the course is mathematically rigorous.
5) I have to sit the TMUA and I started preparing in October last year.
6) Not really planning on attending Open Days if I'm honest..
7) I feel really weird about starting university. I've been in the same school for the last 10 years and the idea of this being my last year is crazy to me!
8) I also applied to Cambridge, UCL, Warwick and Bath!

3) I got 8888888876 at GCSE and I am predicted A*A*A* at A-Level
4) I really like the language specialism for my degree as well as the year abroad options, its also the #1 uni for philosophy in the uk
5) no admissions test!

7) Quite nervous ngl

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
I'm doing geography, sociology and economics
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
Geography! I love that the course at LSE is solely human-based so it's very relevant to what I want to pursue in the future (urban/transport planning)
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
GCSE: 9988888877; A-level predicted A*A*A* (and achieved A* in my EPQ)
4) Why LSE specifically?
As stated before, the course is perfect for my interests in geography but still very well regarded (ranked 2nd in the world for geography). I also love the study abroad and fieldwork opportunities, and I don't live too far outside of London so it's easy to get home to see my friends and family.
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
Nope, no admissions tests thankfully.
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
I attended the April open day and loved LSE, which is one of the main reasons that I'm applying.
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
Very excited to get away from my little town and gaining more independence. Looking forward to meeting more like-minded people.
8) Other unis you're interested in?
Cambridge (Girton College), St Andrews, Sheffield and Cardiff (the latter are human geography with planning courses)

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
A-Level subjects are Mathematics, Physics, Economics
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
BSc Management due to its excellent career opportunities and I also have met quite a number of people on the course who recommended it to me
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
I achieved 998877777 at GCSE which i'm quite nervous is on the weaker side for LSE. I am predicted A*A*A* in my A levels though so hopefully that is able to make up for it
4) Why LSE specifically?
After university I would like a job in high finance (e.g. investment banking, sales and trading) and LSE places a really high number of people into those roles each year. I also am a huge fan of the year abroad that they offer on the course and I have always wanted to study/live in America so I hope to get the opportunity to spend a year at Upenn (Wharton) or Umich (Ross).
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
None for LSE, I have to sit the TSA (Section 1) for Oxford. I only started preparing at the beginning of this academic year because I didn't really think I would be applying.
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
Funnily enough out of all my choices LSE is the only open day I haven't actually attended but I've visited the area and the campus on several different occasions.
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
Looking forward to the independence and being able to see new faces
8) Other unis you're interested in?
Oxford (Worcester), Warwick, Durham, Bristol

Awesome thread! I was wondering what is the working and social culture like at LSE, any interesting pros and cons that prospective students wouldn't know from info online? Also, does LSE care about extracurriculars and future career aspirations in the PS?

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
I take the International Baccalaureate (HL Maths AA, Econs, History)
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
BSc Economics. Economics has always been a source of reason and resolution that I find comfort in. I feel that it provides you with a set of necessary skills and perspectives to truly understand this world where we will be spending our entire lives, with interactions and behaviours of humans at its core. And only with this understanding of the foundational workings of human society can we begin to seek solutions to global issues.
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
A*A*A*A*A*A*A*A 9999. 45/45
4) Why LSE specifically?
The research and internship opportunities at LSE's world-class research facilities and access to the heart of London's business district really entice me, especially as I plan to do policy research and analytics. The wide array of electives available is also icing on the cake as I will be free to explore and deepen my interests in related fields.
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
TMUA (struggling a bit atm ngl 💀)
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
A plane ticket is too great of a financial investment for information I can find online lmao.
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
Excited and ready, I'm about done with highschool lol.
8) Other unis you're interested in?
Cambridge, UCL, KCL, IC, all for economics.

Aaaa got my confirmation email from LSE this night (literally past midnight). Sounds promising, considering they say on their website that they aim to send these emails 8 weeks after you’ve applied, and it’s been only 3

Is that a positive sign ?

Yeah, cause LSE is known for being slower than some other unis. Earlier confirmation emails might mean earlier decisions.

When do they normally give out earlier decisions ?

I think the earlier ones last year were December last year. Many in March/april and even in May there were a lot. Which can be stressful because May is exam season for many, and generally it’s so close to the deadline when you need to choose your firm and second choices.
