Hello!

1.

I do A levels: History, Economics and Sociology (also did AS Maths)

2.

I applied for ISPP because it focuses on policies and circumstances they are made in. Thought it was really interesting as a mixture of my a level subjects which I really enjoy.

3.

A*A*A

4.

I love the competitiveness of LSE it's really gonna stretch me to be the best version of myself and surround myself with like-minded people. I have been to the campus before and it just feels so right, I'm really hoping to make it.

5.

N/A

6.

No

7.

I'm nervous as you don't tend to have more than 1 person from your year group going there so I wont have any friends to start off with. I'm excited to meet new people and find a different side to myself however.

8.

I applyied to UCL, Kings and City as well.

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
4) Why LSE specifically?

1.

IB: HL History, Psych, and English Lang&Lit; SL Math, Bio, and Spanish B

2.

Social Anthropology: the evolution of cultures is what has interested me the most the past few years, especially since I move around so much. LSE also allows a specialization in Politics with this course, and that's something I'd like to integrate into my studies

3.

IB predicted 40 without 3 extra points from TOK and EE

4.

LSE has an excellent reputation with the social and political sciences

5.

I don't have to sit an admissions test

6.

I will not be attending Open Days

7.

Bittersweet: looking forward to leaving home and living independently, but at the same time it's a sign that I'm starting my adult life and moving away from what I've known most of my life

8.

I've applied to KCL and SOAS (already gotten offers from these!), and then Edinburgh and Cambridge

Any offers yet?

Hi, I'm Aleks and I'm from California!!
1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
Right now I'm doing the APs for Chemistry, Statistics, English Literature, and US Government
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why
International Relations! I love learning about the world and politics, and I have wanted to study IR since I was 15.
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
55555554 (previous AP scores, which are out of 5) and predicted 5555 for this year.
4) Why LSE specifically?
Studying in London would be my dream! I also toured some unis in London earlier and LSE has been my favorite by far.
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
Unlikely because of how far London is from California
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
Scared but so so excited. I don't think it's set in yet; it feels so far away.
8) Other unis you're interested in?
I applied to KCL, Oxford (St John's), UCL, and St Andrews (which I have an offer for). In the US I'm looking at Georgetown, USC, Harvard, Yale, and some other schools.

I'm Samiksha, GCSE grades 9999999888, applying for BSc Politics and Economics, predicted A Level A*A*A (Politics, Economics, Maths), also applied to Oxford (unfortunately, didn't get through), QMUL (offer), KCL (PPE), UCL(HPE)

Hi everyone,

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
I’m doing Maths, Physics, Economics ( I do Welsh baccalaureate and did AS Psychology as well)
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
I’m applying for both Philosophy & Economics, Accounting & Finance. Both can give me the skills for a career in finance but I particularly love the PE course as it looks into rationality, inequalities and global issues which really fascinates me. Both courses have compulsory Micro/Macro modules as well which I’m really enjoying learning at the moment as well.
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
I achieved 10A* for GCSE and a distinction in Additional Maths level 2
I’m Predicted A*AA (And A* for Welsh Baccalaureate)
4) Why LSE specifically?
It’s such a renowned school that excels in social sciences and scores well on rankings every year. The job prospects and career pathways after graduation also draws my attention. I’d love to go into finance in the future which I think LSE will best prepare me for.
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparingfor them?
No admission tests required for both courses
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
Most likely not
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
I’m so excited although London can be very expensive
8) Other unis you're interested in?
I’m applying to Durham, Bath and Exeter for Pure economics with a placement year

Way too early. I got my offer 25th April

Reply 49

Pretty sure they don't even start making offers till mid December with most being much later

Reply 50

I wonder how their scholarship system works. It says on the website that the latest date to apply is 21st April (or smth like that; all I mean is it is really late and I'm pretty sure it's end of April), but how does that work if, let's say, my offers comes through 25th? Does that mean they send the offers to the best applicants earlier or what?

Reply 51

when does LSE typically start to give offers?

Aaaa got my confirmation email from LSE this night (literally past midnight). Sounds promising, considering they say on their website that they aim to send these emails 8 weeks after you’ve applied, and it’s been only 3

hii was your confirmation email from LSE's undergraduate admissions or from the department of your course?

Reply 55

Does anyone know which courses tend to receive offers the earliest? Is it less competitive humanities courses (like mine), or the more cutthroat ones like Law or Economics?

Hey, I just checked, and it's from the general "LSE admissions" email. Did you get something different?

Nope I got it from LSE admissions, I was checking because I received two confirmation emails from UCL. One from the admissions team and another from the department. Was wondering if it was the same for LSE

Reply 58

I received my acknowledgement email on 8th October, and radio silence since then. I think the 8 week processing time is mainly for applicants who apply on/near to the January 29th deadline - that way they have until April to send out decisions. But for early applicants like myself who apply well before LSE behing to process applications, it's not realistic that we'll hear anything within that 8 week period as they generally don't start looking at applications until mid December.

Oh wow, that's interesting... What are you applying for at UCL? I'm applying for law and I only got the emails from the general admissions so far, not the faculty...
