Hey everyone,
I got a conditional offer yesterday at 2:45 PM
MSc in Politics. I applied in feb and I have 6 years of experience in government.

I need help understanding one thing:
They’re asking for “verifiable degree documents”, but I already uploaded my transcript and graduation certificate both are stamped and official.
So what do they actually mean by verifiable? Do I need to send them in a different way or through my university directly?

Also, I have an IELTS score of 6.5 (the requirement is 7). I tried several times but couldn’t reach it 💔
has anyone been accepted with a lower score or offered a language course?

Thanks a lot, and I really hope everyone waiting gets good news soon!

Sorry to hear that - UCL is however a great London uni.
My son got his Geography rejection at 10:27…! I hate to say it, but I suspect they were waiting on international offer holders to either firm or withdraw and we’re holding a waitlist of sorts to maximise the higher fees from non UK. As we know, universities are struggling financially, so those that attract a lot of overseas students would be foolish not to give them a slight priority! Enjoy UCL!

Rejection for pol & econ via LSE email at 4:39pm. Those who also got rejected, did you get the same reason as

'The assessors felt that there were strengths to your application, however admission to LSE is highly competitive and the quality of applications received this year has been high, as a result many well-qualified candidates have been unsuccessful in their application. The feedback we have received from the Admissions Selector indicates that your application was unsuccessful as a consequence of the exceptional standard of other applicants this year. LSE receives a large number of applications per place and admission to the school is highly competitive. All the information on your application has been considered holistically, and although overall your application was good, it was not as strong as other similar applicants who have applied this year'

Also, i've got offers from Warwick PPE and econ & pol at Bristol/Durham. I wanna go into investment banking/finance so which would you guys recommend as ik all 3 are target unis. I was thinking ab firming warwick and then insuring bristol but idk. i'm from london btw. Congrats to all those who got offers!

Literally have the same offers as you and rejections so congrats on making it further into the admin process

If you want finance, then Warwick should be your go too. Warwick (target) > Bristol = Durham (both solid semi targets)

Home students compete with other home students on their places. As do internationals. Actually, I would say that the competition for internationals is higher as there are more international students that apply for the approxinmately the same number of places. Check the public tableau of lse.

The Official London School of Economics and Political Science 2025 Applicant Thread

Hi :hi:
This is the thread for people who are thinking of applying to LSE for 2025!
Meet and chat to other people applying here.
Here are a few suggested opening questions, but ask whatever you want regarding LSE.
1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
2) What course at LSE do you have your eyes on? And why?
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
4) Why LSE specifically?
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
8) Other unis you're interested in?
You can find a directory linking to all of the other university applicant threads here.

I am applying for Law for 2026 entry, with the London School of Economics (LSE) as my top choice. I am sitting the LNAT in December and am aiming to achieve a score in the mid-20s to 30 range. My GCSE grades are 8877766665 (essay subjects were the higher grades), and my predicted A-level grades are AAA in English Literature, History, and Psychology, with an EPQ predicted at grade A. My teacher references are relatively average, but I have a strong and well-developed personal statement.
I would like to know whether, given this profile, my goal of receiving an offer from LSE for Law is realistic, or whether it would be considered a stretch.

Reply 1176

Sorry to be harsh but I think you may struggle to get an offer, your grades are good but LSE law is highly competitive and most applicants will be applying with 3/4 A* s and all 9a at GCSE, They don’t take your EPQ into account at all. Your teacher reference may also be a problem if it is just average. I applied last year for Economics with A*A*A* + A* achieved at EPQ 99998888777, a stellar teacher reference and what I thought was a strong PS but didn’t get an offer
