When to send evidence?

I haven't been requested for it yet, but if I suspect that it will, would it be better to upload it ahead of time (before I'm asked) to avoid delays?
Hi there,

Yes you can upload evidence before it is requested.

Thanks, Drew

Hi, thanks for the info

However, I am confused because there seems to be conflicting info.
On one hand, it's suggested to upload evidence as soon as possible to avoid delay. But on the other hand, SFE's guidance states not to upload evidence unless requested as it could incur delays - and that it could be up to 6 weeks after evidence is last uploaded for the application to finish processing.
To make it more confusing, the SFE timescales page doesn't seem to mention a timescale for residency evidence, which per my previous threads, I'm expecting to be requested for. So I don't even know where this 6 weeks figure comes from, since some evidence clearly does not have 6 week timescale according to the timescales page.

I want to get my application processed as soon as possible. Currently, my next update is 23 September, which I assume is due to the parents marital status form my parent completed over a week ago. Will uploading my residency evidence now hasten, delay, or not affect the time it takes for my application to be processed?
