How do you know if your eligible for funding from the ambulance service trust if applying as a second degree? And is there any changing to funding for second degree students happening in 2025?

Unfortunately I don't think any changes are planned to make paramedic science an exception course for second degree funding. My only suggestion is to search Ambulance Trust websites to see if they offer apprenticeships instead.

Unis will respond any time between now and April, and the timing also varies between courses. Some unis wait until after the January deadline before making any decisions and other process them quickly.

Use the following search tool to help you find paramedic courses and then check the entry requirements section on the uni course page:

Hi, i have a paramedicine interview on Monday. I have read all the helpful links. The question iam struggling to answer non-generically, is 'why do you want to be a paramedic'. Could any people who got offers, answer the question, so i can see what kind of things i could be answering. My current answer is: i want to be one of the first people there is someone's moment of crisis, as when i was in crisis, the first person there saved my life. Please be honest, is that too generic?

Hi, I've applied to Buckinghamshire new university, Northampton, Bedfordshire, Oxford Brookes and my last choice is undecided. I'm currently doing A-level health and social care, criminology and sociology and I'm predicted A* A A. I currently have interview offers at Northampton and Bedfordshire  any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I’m 35 years old and wanting to apply for PS for Sep 2025 entry as a full time Undergrad, but i’ve heard that due to having a degree already (albeit in Sport) I may be able to apply straight to do an MA in PS instead. Also, wondering about previous criminal convictions for drink driving (spent, occurred 6 years ago) and how much of a detrimental impact they would have on my chances.

Hi, I’ve just got an offer to study paramedic science in September 2025. I was wanting to get my first stethoscope to celebrate. Does anyone know what type we need for uni/placements.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi, what Uni are you going to? Waiting on hearing back from a few and getting anxious! Hope you find a good stethoscope, check out the Littmann brand, a few nurses I know have these.

Thank you!! I’m feeling quite confident for my interviews. My Bradford interview is extremely soon. I have listened to the student podcast and have tried to cover all bases in terms of what could be asked but I’m still unsure as it is a group interview. Do you have any tips ?

Great to hear you're feeling confident! 🙂 @pointed-bodice

I've popped a message over to the course leader to see if they're able to share any tips or have any other resources aside from the podcast you've already listened to! I'll be back in touch as soon as I can!

Hey @pointed-bodice

Thanks for your patience! I've had a reply from our paramedic recruitment lead regarding the interview.

The interview process is divided into three sections:

1.

Group interview

2.

Group activity

3.

Judgement test

For the group interview, it would be beneficial for applicants to prepare by developing an awareness of the paramedic profession, including career progression and development opportunities. Additionally, applicants should reflect on why they have chosen to apply to Bradford specifically, as this demonstrates their motivation and understanding of the institution.

It would also be valuable for applicants to familiarise themselves with contemporary issues currently affecting paramedic practice.

The recruitment lead has asked me to reassure you do not stress about the process, they will provide clear guidance and support on the interview day to help you feel at ease and perform to the best of your ability 🙂

If you need any additional information or support materials please do let me know, and best of luck!
