Universal Credit + Disabled

I'm disabled (hearing loss) and have a few problems with my eyesight which are corrected by my glasses. Unfortunately, I didn't know about Universal Credit and only applied to it recently. I am going into Uni this September and I'm actively looking for part-time work around the area, but it's difficult because I'm shy to handle customers (not great for any hospitality such as retail).
Can I still get my payments from Universal Credit?

I could be wrong but I believe that if you were to receive maintenance loans from student finance that would cancel out any payments you would otherwise be eligible for. I study from home so I don’t receive maintenance payments but my stepsons mum was in a brick uni a couple of years ago and when she declared that she was at uni and getting paid maintenance loans it put her UC payments to zero. I would assume that would be the case for everyone but if in doubt speak to UC advisors as they would be able to tell you the likelihood of you still being eligible for payments.

Thank you so much, I'll definitely talk to my advisors.

"Are you claiming PIP? If not, consider making a claim. It won't affect your Universal Credit claim.

Take a look at any university bursaries and disability support they offer.

Also, have a look at your council aswell and any support they may offer( household support fund)

Regarding Universal Credit, just apply for it. There's no harm in applying, and the worst that could happen is getting rejected. Even if you receive a maintenance loan, you may still be eligible depending on yur circumstances., Your extra support for being disabled as well) I don't think you will get the full UC amount due to maintenance loans, but you may receive some support). It's worth a try. Once you apply, they will assess your needs. Try to provide as much evidence as possible, such as medical documents, letters, diagnosis, and information about your medications.

Hope this helps!
You should be applying for PIP, Disability Living Allowance and special grant on top of maintenence loan as the maintenence loan will cancel put almost if not all universal.

Hello, I do already claim PIP. I had an appointment with someone working there and they said that I would only receive 1 payment before school starts.

I have researched some grants but there’s little to none for me to apply to.

I haven’t heard much of DLA, but have heard and applied to DSA. Will research into that soon.

Thank you for all the ideas so far.
Technically you should be kept on universal credit even though you won't recieve much or any funds. When you apply for you maintenance loan you need to call student finance amd ask about the special support fund. Pip shouldn't stop if you attend university if your actual health situation hasn't changed.
