Official Dietetics / Nutrition Applicants Thread 2025

If you're applying to uni for Dietetics or Nutrition course for 2025 entry, this is the place to introduce yourself to fellow applicants, ask questions and share your experience of applying so far:

Undergraduate or post graduate course?
Which universities are you hoping to apply for?
Work/shadowing experience?
Anything else?

Share as little or as much as you are comfortable with.

Please don't share details of interview questions on the forum - it gives those who follow you an unfair advantage.

HEY, I’ll be the first to post on here😅. Has anybody managed to get work experience in nutrition or dietetics because I was unsuccessful everywhere I tried.

Try going back to the places you contacted and ask for a day's 'shadowing' experience rather than work experience. Hospitals are more likely to be able to accommodate this rather than a week or two of work experience. Unis want to see that you understand the role, which is what shadowing will do. Your work experience can be in any public-facing role - care home, charity shop, cafe/restaurant, etc. - anything that shows you are experienced in dealing with the general public.

Hey! Nice to meet everyone! My names Kim and im applying for dietetics this year after achieving ACD in a levels and doing an initial year now at Hertfordshire University. I'm trying to apply elsewhere as well , Nottingham , Newcastle and Surrey. Does anyone suggest any other good universities to apply for ? I'm not sure if I want to apply to nutrition which is what I have heard other people have done before with their other choices.
Hello,
I'm going to be applying for Dietetics/Nutrition & Dietetics courses for 2025 entry! I'm taking a gap year at the moment to take Chemistry and resit Biology. Does anyone know if applying a bit later (e.g December - early January) reduces your chances of getting an interview, as I'm still consolidating my application.

Applications received in Dec/Jan aren't treated any differently to those received earlier. It won't reduce your chance of getting an interview or offer.
