@scar-the-queen well, it sounds like you've got a fabulous set of predicted grades and an equally fab selection of unis! Really pleased to hear that you liked Bath's course content and picked us as one of your options, it would be lovely to see you here next year!!! And yes you are correct, whichever uni you decide to go to you have so many exciting times ahead - being at uni opens so many doors to you, most of which will be completely unpredictable, so be sure to put yourself out there and make the most of every opportunity 🙂 In the meantime, just keep doing what you're doing - do your best with your A levels, get as much support as you can with that personal statement and enjoy your last year of school before starting off on the next exciting step!

Please, please reach out if you have any questions! And wishing you the best of luck 🤞

Hi! I’m glad you’re interested in studying at Bath 😊. Great job with your grades! It seems like you’ve done a lot of research about the course and already had a look around the university, which is brilliant. You’ve definitely put yourself in a good position for starting here.

I am studying pharmacy so am also within the Life Sciences department. The department offers a lot of support and constantly reviews the curriculum to make sure it is as useful and up to date as possible. I recently completed my cancer unit which, as you can imagine, had a focus on anti-cancer drugs. The topic was very interesting, but definitely complex. They brought in specialists to give lectures, which helped to show how the knowledge we are learning is applied in real life. Hopefully they will provide something similar on your course.

Best of luck to you with your A Levels and starting uni. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😊

Hi!
It’s great that you’re passionate about the subjects you’re choosing! The opportunity for placements at Bath is definitely a bonus. We have very strong industry links so students often secure placements with top companies, giving them a head-start after graduation.

I’m glad that you’re attending our online events, hopefully it will give you some insight to what it’s like as a student at the university so you feel prepared for starting here. Of course it’s natural to feel nervous about such a big change in your life, but you seem to be very positive so I’m sure you would find your place here.

Good luck with your IB! Please let me know if you have any questions 😊

Hi there! It's amazing to see that you're interested in coming to Bath! What an incredible set of GCSE grades and predicted A Levels you have! 😁

I'm a Psychology student here, and we do have a great program of study! You're right as well about our placements, as we have many strong industry connections within the UK and around the world, and have one of the best University placement schemes in the country!

It's unfortunate that you can't attend an in-person open day, but did you know the University is hosting a virtual open day on Thursday 31st October? Hopefully it'll be just as beneficial and offer you some insight into life studying at the university, and you'll get the opportunity to ask any questions you may have! You can sign up here: https://www.bath.ac.uk/campaigns/undergraduate-virtual-open-day/

Good luck with your A Levels! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have 😊

Hi, I was just wondering, is it true that Bath won't be sending out offers until the equal consideration deadline? I got an email along the lines of that and feel like I might be misinterpreting it, although some of my friends say the same. This is for Bio, Psych and Architecture; not too sure about any of the others.

Hiya there!

When particular courses send out offers varies year on year, and its very difficult to predict when your offers will come. Your offers could come anytime between now and the end of April, and as long as you submit your application before the ECD then when you submit will have no relation to how likely you are to receive an offer. All applications sent before the ECD are treated completely equally and fairly - however it takes our admissions team time to go through each application, so please do bear with us as frustrating as it might feel!

I hope that helps, best of luck this year 🙂

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! Really great to hear you're interested in Econ. I just wanted to jump in with some reassurance:

1.

Your GCSEs are nothing to be disappointed about. For econ here we specify a 4 at GCSE English lang or lit, which you have clearly exceeded as well as doing very well in many other subjects. Don't be so hard on yourself 🙂

2.

Lovely set of predicted grades - congrats on all the hard work you must have put in to get them! Having such a strong maths background will defo be of benefit as we ask for an A in maths for econ. Keep up the fab work!

3.

Please try not to feel terrified - whilst this is a totally normal feeling to have which is shared by many students in your position, perhaps some of that fear comes from fear of the unknown? Uni is for sure is a daunting prospect as you'll be navigating a brand new environment and study style - however within that new environment there will be tonnes of really exciting and unique opportunities, and things will settle down. The thought of starting something new is 99% of the time far more daunting than actually jumping in and doing it!

I hope this helps, very best of luck!

Hellooo!

Thanks for sharing! I also did Psychology with a placement and would very highly recommend the course, especially for its teaching quality and the variety of modules you learn.

Its a shame you cannot attend the open days but please do keep an eye out for your invitation to an offer holder day if you receive an offer - these are a great way to learn more about your course and meet some current students and lecturers - there are both in-person ones and online ones for those who are not able to come to campus.

Its normal to feel terrified, so please don't worry about this, you will not be the only one! However rest assured when you get to uni (whether you choose Bath or any of your other choices), you will soon start to feel more settled and you will meet many, many new students in the exact same boat. Trust me, any anxiety you feel now will turn into excitement quickly!

Best of luck with everything!

Hiya there Woodso!

Thanks for sharing this, and great to hear you're choosing Bath as one of your Big Five! However I'd encourage you not to assume you won't get an offer just yet, as you have a great overall grade profile, so as long as you put in a strong PS then you still have a chance of getting an offer. It is very difficult to predict as courses vary in popularity year on year, but it is definitely worth giving it a go, and we're wishing you the best of luck. Yes, please do come to an offer holder day if and when the time comes - you'll receive an invitation shortly after your offer.

It also sounds like you've been sensible with your choices - i.e applying for one or two aspirational choices, a couple of realistic choices and a good safety-net choice. I'm sure with a grade and subject profile like yours then you will do well wherever it is you'll end up choosing.

Best of luck 🙂

Hey! I'm Oscar

1.

I did physics, maths and chemistry and actually completed my A levels last year, I am also resitting maths

2.

MPhys physics with astrophysics, to fulfill my childhood dreams of becoming a physicist (I just love space tbh)
