Anyone else having trouble with SFE/SLC?

My application has made no progress at all since I submitted it on May 16th. It's been stuck on "processing application" this entire time (which at this point is almost 4 months). I changed the uni course I was doing on results day and phoned a few days later because obviously I was concerned, and at that point I was told that nothing was wrong with my application, all of my evidence was received and accounted for in the notes on my application, it just hadn't been processed any further for no apparent reason. So I was told to wait until the end of August since I'd just changed the uni course so it would take time to process it again anyway. 2 weeks later (today) I pick up the phone and the automated voice thing literally tells me to be patient and hang up because they won't be able to give me anymore information. I leave for uni in less than 2 weeks, none of my fees are paid and I can't pay my rent or afford to even eat without my maintenance loan. What am I supposed to do in this situation? Should I contact my uni about this?

Hi there,

When did you submit the Change of Circumstances and did you do it on your online account? Have you applied as a UK national, Migrant Worker or EU national? Do you have any child dependents on your application?

Hi Drew, the change of circumstance was submitted on results day (15th August) online, I applied as a UK national and I have no child dependents. I was also told on the phone that there were no issues with my application on my end - I've submitted everything that was asked of me, but my ID evidence is stuck on "received" and has been since May.

So was the application not approved before you made the Change of Circumstances? The Change of Circumstances you sent can take approximately 31 working days to process.

No, it hadn't been accepted. My evidence was stuck on "received" the entire time (about 3 months between submitting and the change of circumstance) and my application never moved past the processing stage. I'm hoping it's just taking its time to process after the change of circumstance, but after seeing no progress at all for months prior to changing courses I'm a bit anxious, and I'm not sure what to do if my fees aren't paid and I haven't received my maintenance loan when my course starts.
