Hello! This is me:

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science & Psychology

2) What course at ICL do you have your eyes on? And why?
Computing (Security & Reliability); I like cybersecurity because of how fast-paced it is (I guess I'm kinda drawn to the chaos of the field) and it requires you to always be prepared and always grow to keep up with malicious actors

3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
GCSES - 9x 9s & 1x 8 & 1x A
Predicted - 4x A*s

4) Why ICL specifically?
The computing courses in general at ICL seem good and I don't mind the University. I'm kinda worried about how busy London is though

5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
TMUA, already started prep for that

6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
I didn't go to an open day but I attended a Computing Taster Course

7) How are you feeling about starting University?
Really excited for now at least but I'm sure when offers start coming in I'll start panicking

8) Other unis you're interested in?
Oxford, UCL, Southampton, Lancaster

Hi, we do the same subjects and im also applying for chem at ox, imperial, ucl, kcl and qmul for chem eng. I’m curious tho, why did u not apply all in london + ox and why those unis outside and not somewhere like durham or St Andrew which ranks higher for chem?

Also do u know when interviews take place for imperial? (Or anyone just generally for imperial early applicants)

Also just wanna add that ur gcse grades and predicteds are rlly good well done!!

I have quite a few reasons to be honest. Firstly, I'm not entirely sure if I want to stay in London, so I kept my options open. I didn't want to apply for to many high ranking unis even though my predicted were good because I want to have some wiggle room with the grade offers I get. Also I did look at Durham and St Andrews but they were way too far for me (I may want to leave London but not that far). Finally, I'm on programmes for Bristol and Nottingham which give me reduced grade offers so I thought why not.

Looking a TSR threads for previous years Interviews might start from next month but we could be waiting until feburary.

P.S. Thank you about my predicteds 🙂

Depends on when you apply, wouldn't it? After looking at some of forms of previous yrs, most September/October applicants received interview offers late October

tbh I just picked 2 really interesting topic (outside of school) and just read articles about them. Then I explain what I learnt, why I found it interesting and why it made want to study chemistry or how it made me think about something differently to before. The main thing I think is that you show reflection on what you read/listen to and link it to why you have the skills/desire to study the subject
