applying for ucl slade 2025??

hi guys! i'm just starting y13 and thinking of applying for UCL Slade's new course art and technology. i'm mainly applying for art and design courses which i love so this sounds rlly cool. is anyone also thinking of applying? or if u r a student currently at Slade, has anyone got any information on what it's like at Slade in general? <3 (also would art foundation year be useful?)

helloo y13 here too, i'm applying for bfa fine art! i went on a tour earlier jn, i think the academic selection process is quite rigorous so some ppl found the foundation useful academically, but the undergrad student i talked to said she didn't quite like the structure of her foundation year. also the studios look great, they have good facilities too but compared to other arts schls like ual they def have a smaller range for everything. how are you getting on with your portfolio? i saw that they much prefer independent work, im putting in more of my conceptual art in there just cause i feel like i can go more in depth with them but wbu? 🙂

yes i am! (kinda behind on my coursework rn lol). I got this from their guidance page ( https://www.ucl.ac.uk/slade/study/ba-bfa-portfolio-guidance/): "We are keen to see project work but also think about[...]any artwork you make outside of school projects and that you think important and represents your interests in making art." hope that helps <33

i think the message i just sent is being reviewed but yes i am!! kinda behind on coursework rn lol. if you go on their portfolio guidance page they have all the info there, and they're saying "We are keen to see project work but also [...] any artwork you make outside of school projects and that you think important and represents your interests in making art." <33

hmm i mean i really like fine art and both ba and bfa r practice based which is pretty cool but i ended up picking ba since there was the option of extra modules from a second course in second year so i wanted to keep my options a bit more open bc i always feel like i want to do everything !!
