Are you still waiting. I’m a parent of an insurance choice. Applied first thing on 20th to join waiting list. We still have not been allocated accommodation.

I am also a parent and we are still waiting. I have to say the experience at Bath has been very poor relative to other universities (York, Durham, Warwick) where friends who have had insurance choices or gone through clearing have had accommodation allocated. I know Bath does not guarantee accommodation if you not the first choice but neither do these other unis. It is already a difficult start but to get not support from the uni, potentially be living on your own or not with other freshers is really appalling. Had I understood how indifferent the Bath is to all this I would have pushed my son towards a different choice.

I feel the same maternal guilt.
Also feel duped and robbed by this process from Bath
Applied on 20th as I was holding out for a remark for my firm choice and initially wrong info that I couldnt apply till that came back. Bit annoying tbh, not too keen on going here in general and not knowing if I'll have a place to live isn't helping.
Should we be looking for private accommodation? Because I've heard from a friend there's a good chance I won't get any in time
It would be appropriate for an official rep from Bath Accommodation or ResLife to reply to these concerns and provide a bit more guidance on how long to wait. Again, the experience friends have had at other unis has been VERY different. Bath seems happy to accept tuition fees but cannot be bothered to actually help students.

I have called the reslife accommodation office contact number several times. The information changes. Most recent felt hopeful with a ‘should get allocated university managed city accommodation by the end of this week… or next’
A statement email would help to calm the major concerns.
Definitely not the happy excited run up to leaving for Uni that I had hoped for my son.
