Computer Science courses (preferably london)

Hiya! made an account today to pose this question- does anyone know of some good reputable computer science course universities that ARENT majorly elite like UCL etc.

Looking for something with a decent foreign student acceptance rate but still a good school. I've been looking for a while but the trouble is that a lot of the websites will post just the elite rankings which give the same 5 schools over and over again.

Looking from an American perspective with a 3.8 GPA(if that's of any use to know) with a weighted 4.9. Any advice/ help would be hugely appreciated- applying through UCAS so I only have 5 slots and would like a couple more realistic choices just in case the lower acceptance rate ones fall through.

Thanks!!

Hello! 🙂
Firstly, well done on your GPA result! I'm pretty sure UK universities don't use GPA results as they're quite different to entry requirements here. This is what UEA uses as entry requirements for USA students.

UEA, based in Norwich, is a fantastic university with many foreign students, and the computer science school is well respected. As an international student at UEA, accommodation would be guaranteed for your first year.
Have you thought about whether you would prefer a campus university or a city one? Many students who come to UEA find that Norwich strikes a perfect balance between being a quiet city but still lively with something on offer for everyone.
It would be worth coming to an open day here at UEA but I appreciate it is quite far away! You can still have a look at the university via the virtual open day. Here is the link: Virtual Open Day | University of East Anglia (uea.ac.uk)

What kind of computer science course are you looking to do? UEA has many computer science courses from the generic 'computer science BSc' to more specific ones. Have a look here at the courses available on offer at UEA.

I hope this helps, please free to ask any questions you may have!
