Time table BCU

So i got my new time table is not bad it’s actually good except for Mondays. I have work early morning on Monday sometimes I have shift from 6 am to 12pm or 5 am to 13 pm and I have one seminar class that starts from 12-13 and then I have lecture from 13pm to 3 pm. I don’t mind the lecture as I can get there not lm time but few minutes late, but I won’t be able to do that from my seminar class and I can’t ask for change because it says they won’t change it if it is for work related. I already ask my manage if they can booked me for another shift but they can’t as it is full and I can’t lose this job because I’m using my money from this job to pay for my public transport. What can I do because it’s my last year in uni akd I don’t want to miss any of my classes

Hi @__layla__,

As a fellow final-year student, I understand how tough it can be to juggle university and work. However, I believe that focusing on earning the degree for my desired career is the top priority at this moment in time, even if I need to keep pushing to find solutions.
So here are a few ideas:

Even though the uni says they won't change the seminar for work-related reasons, it's worth explaining your situation to your seminar lecturer and personal tutor too. They might be more understanding than you think and could possibly offer some flexibility or alternative arrangements.

Also, see if you can swap shifts. I know you've already asked your manager, but maybe keep an eye out for any colleagues who might want to swap shifts with you. Sometimes, people's schedules change, so a solution might pop up. If not, the ultimate result would be to look for other part-time jobs with more flexible hours that could work better with your schedule.I know how frustrating that is, especially when the job is for transport.

Hope any of those help your situation and all the best for your final year!
