Adult Dependants Grant

Hello,

I applied for Adult Dependants Grant 5 weeks ago through the post and I am yet to receive a response. I'm aware that it takes 6 weeks to reassess SFE claims, but I was just wondering if this means I won't get my normal maintenance or tuition loans on time if it means they are reassessing the entire claim for this? On the SFE website it says my first payment is due on the 26th but I'm worried that it may be delayed if I have to wait for my claim to be acknowledged and then provide any more evidence and wait for my Adult Dependants Grant to be accepted and all this so close to term time? I was also wondering if non-taxable income such as Universal Credit counts as income for my dependant as my mother only receives this and is unable to work (she has a disability).

Thank you.

Hi there, If your application is not reassessed prior to the expected payment date you will still receive scheduled payments. Once we process the request for the Adults Dependents Grant your application status will change to processing. Universal Credit does count as income. Thanks, Angela
