hi! dentistry is a great career pathway, and it’s good to hear you’re interested in getting ahead with work experience, however it’s worth considering:

usually you need very recent work exp, and i understand not wanting to leave it to yr 13 but it’s inevitable. many 17 yr olds will be applying right now for work exp, so usually priority will go to them due to their applications for uni being due in october. and many practices don’t really want to facilitate them, so it’s normal to receive a lack of response. doesn’t make it any less frustrating! if you don’t receive the response you’d like through emails, it might be worth contacting them over call or in person; it might increase your chance of being accepted. if you’re unable to find work exp, do volunteering instead and then apply for work exp in yr 13.
its also suggested that you do volunteering or work exp during holidays, so you’re not as distracted or missing crucial school time.
if you’re unsure between pharmacology or dentistry, check out both forums, maybe ask some people in real life about it, apply for work exp, you should be able to discern what interests you more )
good luck! and i hope this helps

Also @04MR17 , would we be able to get this thread moved to the dentistry forum ))
