Uni options

I wanted to apply to just Physics courses (for my 5 options) but i was encouraged to also consider the structural engineering and architecture course at the uni of sheffield bc of my a levels (maths, further maths, physics and art) and i think its a very good course (mainly bc of the dual accreditation) but i already wanted to apply for physics at the same university.
another problem is that i based my personal statement mainly on quantum mechanics and i did include some stuff i did w materials with quantum properties (superconductivity) but i feel like it wouldnt be enough to link to the engineering and architecture course. i did also hear somewhere that personal statements aren't really that important within the uni but that was more towards the physics course and im a bit worried about the fact that sheffield w its eng/archi course are quite high up in the tables so they may weigh personal statements more.

in short i guess im kinda just asking whether it would just make sense to apply to the structural engineering and architecture course w the same personal statement or if there is any point even adding it? (also i have no architecture supercurriculars its just physics really :/)
Apply to the course you want to do.

The other course was just a suggestion to consider- you've considered it and said yourself you want to apply to physics.

So just focus on physics:smile:

Applying to university can be quite confusing, especially with the input of others. The most important thing to consider is your interests. If you have any free spaces in the 5 options you have to apply to university, you could consider adding in architecture as a course option.

Although you might not have any extracurriculars involving architecture, as long as you are able to show your passion for the area in other aspects like reading recent articles or books surrounding the topic, then it should be fine as well.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions!

Good luck,
Jivanthika
