SFE Name change

It's been weeks since I notified student finance that my name has been legally changed. It has still not been updated and I am getting worried. It won't let me change the name on my bank details so the only way for me to get my money from SFE is for them to update my name.

I uploaded my deed poll and a cover letter online in mid-August, and on 23rd August I posted a change of circumstances form with my deed poll enclosed.

That would be after I am due my first payment, and SFE do not have my correct bank details. Is there no way to get it done sooner?

Hi Dave, Apologies, the expected timescale is actually 17 working days. There is no fast track option available, all evidence is processed in date order received. For an expected processing date please call us so we can check the actual date the evidence was received. Our contact number is 0300 100 0607. Thanks, Angela

What happens on the day I'm supposed to get paid when my name on sfe doesn't match the name on my bank account? Will I still be able to get the money later when it's updated?

My payment is due on the 23rd, and my name will not have been updated by then. So my payment will be blocked.
