university

Hi guys,
So I am going to do foundation year at a university and I was wondering if once I have completed the foundation year, can I apply to a different university or not with the foundation year?

Hi guys,

You can, it's just very very difficult.

The foundation year is designed for you to move onto related degree courses at the current university; not another uni. Otherwise, they would have told you to do A Levels, BTEC, or an Access course.

The problem with foundation years is that the curriculum is very specific to the individual university's needs. A different university might have a very different curriculum and would require you to learn something completely different and pass them modules at specific grades prior to enrolling. Universities' curriculums are usually not as standardised as A Levels, IBs, BTECs, Access, etc.

I would check with the uni (undergrad admissions) that you intend to transfer to to see if they are willing to accept the foundation year course that you are currently doing right now.
As above - you can't use a Foundation year to 'trade-up' to a higher grade Uni.
If that's what you want, then retake your A levels and apply to that Uni.
Never, ever, start a degree at a Uni you don't actually want to go to or you dont want to finish there.
