LSE Maths with economics or pure economics?

I've heard pure economics is more competitive and prestigious, but I much, much prefer the maths with economics course because I get to do more maths!

Would it be a mistake to switch from economics to maths with economics, despite pure econ being harder to get into? Like would employers care, for example?
