Special considerations after results day

Hello, so I’m 1 mark off an A* in history after getting nothing but A*s all through sixth form.

Basically for my largest paper I was given the question paper about 25 minutes later than everyone else and wasn’t given a start or finish time. Moreover teachers kept talking to me whilst I was writing to attempt to reassure me then when I wanted additional paper it was not on coloured paper as per my exam arrangements (I’m dyslexic) which added further delay. All this to say I feel there was a pretty severe exam disruption. However the school has only applied for 1% special consideration, seemingly, which can be awarded for hayfever as stated on the jcq website. Getting a 2% special consideration would get me an A* but is there anyway to appeal this after the fact.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you 😊.

Yes it’s quite simple really. You have to email the exam board that you did your history exam on or phone them. They will be able to help

I agree that you should call or email the exam board. Also have you submitted for a review of marking to see if you can get another mark like that?

Hi,
If that was me I would contact the school/college and ask for more consideration to your circumstances. 1 mark, that is crazy why they couldn’t give it to you. It happened to someone I know in gcse and she asked for a re mark.
Good luck you deserve the A*

Yes I contacted my teacher about a remark however I have just found out the paper is now missing somehow. So this all seems very strange and unfair considering I cannot get it remarked I guess if it’s missing. So I think this special consideration is the most viable option.

Good luck with it
It’s rubbish that they’ve somehow lost your paper, I hope you find a way to sort it out
