Economics/finance at uni?

Hello, I'm looking to study economics or finance at uni after my a levels.

I was looking to pick maths, economics, and IT for a levels however, I don't qualify for economics (g5 but need g6), same with maths.

Instead, I've chosen business, IT, media studies is it still possible to get into economics/finance with these grades?

(I am allowed 1 subject that I didn't qualify for)

(Business and economics cannot be taken together)

Is there a chance I can still do one of these in uni without changing or do I have to change and hope to get maths or economics for a level?

If you have similar a levels to me please share what you are doing in the future.

Hi @Jamieomearanash!

You should definitely still have a chance to do Economics at university without having either Economics or Maths A-Level. As far as I'm aware, Economics A-Level is rarely a requirement for Economics/Finance degrees as many schools/colleges don't offer it; some universities may still ask for Maths however, so it's advisable to check the course requirements of each individual university before applying. Try to take a look at any university websites/course pages that you might be interested in to get a better idea of what each university's asking for.

Here are a few links to different university course pages to help you get started:

University of Leicester - Economics BSc

Kingston University London - Economics BSc

University of Birmingham - Economics BSc (has a slightly inflated offer for students without A-Level Maths in comparison to those who take it).

Hope this was helpful!
