Ucat mock scores

Hi guys.. I have my exam in 5 days and my mock scores on medify are terrible;
2290
2180
2130
2140

I don’t know what to do anymore.. I don’t seem to improve at all. Is there still hope for me? :frown:

Sometimes the scores aren't always accurate/ what you will get. Is there a certain section that you may be performing weaker on? Maybe try to increase that section. Also I would recommend that you use the keyboard shortcuts with a full keyboard as that can give you some more time for other questions.

Hi , I also have my exam in 5 days and I’m getting similar score just like u on medify ! I’m quite upset abt it as it’s making me panicked but don’t worry too much about it as u never know what will happen on the days and also apparently the mocks r harder than the real thing

3rd year med student here,

To everyone who has said the mocks on medify arent similar to the real thing, unfortunately, they are. The scores i averaged on medify was similar to what i got in the actual ucat.

dont panic though, this is just a quick reality check and at this point in time, i would hate to sugar coat anything to you since this is an important exam.

try figuring out where youre losing marks, and actually understand why. dont just do mock after mock without analysing your mistakes. it will take a while for this, but as with anything, it requires patience

Hi, I hope your exam went well. I'm in a very similar situation and I've done 8 Medify mocks and 1 UCAT Official mock. My exam is on the 26th, and I would really appreciate any advice. I am in sheer panic mode, as I will be attempting this exam for the 4th time in my life and I'm already 28. So there really aren't any opportunities for a do-over at this point. Literally, absolutely any advice would be greatly valued. As per my memory, Medify mocks are pretty indicative of what you will actually get, which isn't helping my stress levels at all.

For reference:
UKCAT 2013: 2650 (BAND 1)
UKCAT 2017: 2350 (BAND 1)
UCAT 2020: 2520 (BAND 1)

Hello. My exam went absolutely awful.. I got 2130.. I am really depressed because I tried so hard. However I won’t quit medicine. My advice is when people say that the Ucat is easier than medify mocks it is really not. It’s the same except QR was easier. I would also recommend relaxing on the day of the exam because I think stress really ruined mine. Just believe in yourself you can do it! Good luck!

Hi, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I am so sorry that your exam didn't go as planned. Please don't lose faith, things will align! Have you thought about GEM or the apprenticeship route? If not, take a look at those options, otherwise, good luck for your retake next year.

Also, thank you so much for your advice, it truly means a lot!

Hey,

First of all congrats for completing your UCAT!

I understand you had hoped for better results and I'm pleased to hear this hasn't deterred you. Medicine is extremely competitive and some people like myself don't always get in straight away.

This will be my third attempt at the UCAT with the below scores:

UCAT 2020: 2510 (Band 1)
UCAT 2021: 2460 (Band 1)

Knowing what you now know you can use it to your advantage to address your weaknesses and strengths for teh next application cycle. This can also be an opportunity to focus on academics if you are in sixth form and could apply with confirmed grades for the following year. You've got this!

Hi. I got 2130 which is even worse. VR and DM completely messed up my test. Do you meet any contextual offers? I am still looking for unis that don't look at the ucat which is a bit hard. However, because I have contextual offer it might help me. Are your gcses good?

Hey,

I applied to SGUL, KCL, HYMS and UEA and received pre-interview rejections for them all. They said my UCAT was too low.

Yeah I hear Scottish uni’s tend to be quite lenient towards home students with regards to UCAT, do you know which ones you want to apply to yet?

Omg I literally got 2130.. Do you think unis would also reject me? my ucat is worse than yours.. However, my predictions are AAA do you think they would just reject me as soon as they see my ucat score?

yea I am thinking of applying to St Adnrews new SCOTCOM course as this may be less competitive, dundee, aberdee and I cannot decide between glasgow or Edinburgh uni do u know which one is less caring about UCAT and cares more about grades or accepts those with 'average' scores?
