Advice on uni application

Hello,
I have recently finished my A levels and got results that I didn't expect an A*ABB and A in core maths, yet I cannot apply to unis of my preference like Manchester, UoB, or Warwick, for an LLB in law. I want an RG uni as I heard that it would open more opportunities and is better when applying for jobs in the future. I have emailed unis like Cardiff, UoB and Liverpool and they had mixed and confusing responses on whether they'll accept me or not. Thus am taking a gap year and trying to figure out what to do, should I resit one of my levels to get an A or stick with my grades and see if any unis could accept me? is it worth testing my A levels? and if I were to resit and get a bad grade would I be at a disadvantage?
Please advise me on what to do?

I am in same situation as well and taking gap year, received A*A*B my A level grades and now can not apply for most of the RG Unis.
Trying to reach UNIs and so far I got reply back from Manchester, QMUL , Leeds and they confirmed that resit will be accepted.
I got following reply from Warwick about resit -
"
Unfortunately, resits taken over 3 years will give you a disadvantage against the cohort of other applicants.
"
still waiting for response from other UNIs.

Anybody reading this post and have experience of similar situation, please advise what is best UNIs apply with good chance to get an offer with resit results?

Hi,

Cardiff student here! Unfortunately, its hard for universities to give specific answers whether you'd be able to receive an offer before they see your application. I'd say that honestly, as long as you meet the requirements on their website, give it your best shot  and if slightly lower than what they're asking but you're still determined, still give it your best shot anyway. I, myself, was quite ambitious with my uni applications despite the predicted grades I got.

Do have a look at whether you've done, or intend to do, an EPQ or if you're eligible for contextual admissions, as some unis (such as Cardiff) may lower your grade offer due to this.
