Business studies or economics at A level?

Hello I just got the call from my six form head letting me know that there's a clash between 2 of the 3 subjects i picked for A level.

I picked Business studies, Media studies, Information technology (IT)
(Business and media clash)

My sf head advised me to drop business in pursuit of economics however I am unsure.

I was thinking of dropping Media and doing maths as it is a strong a level but i am not sure if i would be very good (Would be willing to study hard however)

Currently stuck between

Ideally
IT, Economics, Maths/Media

Most likely
IT, Business, Maths

I am heading towards more dropping media in favour of maths but I am not sure how i would cope.

Hey @Jamieomearanash,

Business Studies and Economics are both good A-Levels to have, as is Maths - but how good they are for you really depends on what you're hoping to pursue in the future. Do you know what you're planning to do after A-Levels - e.g. going to university, getting a degree apprenticeship, etc? Are there any particular courses you want to study/fields you want to enter?

If you want to go down the finance route, either Maths and Business or Maths and Economics is a good combination to have. If you want to do something more computer or technology-based, IT and Maths would probably work well with most entry requirements.

If you're not sure how you would cope with Maths, it might be worth discussing whether or not you should take it with the Maths teacher/department at your sixth form - they'd be better able to advise you whether you'd be a good fit for the content based on your GCSE results.

Hope this helped!
Eve (Kingston Rep).

If you are aiming at a degree in either Business, Management or Econ, its worth doing A level Maths as it will greatly increase your choice of courses and Unis.
