Should i delay my postgraduate application in order to get my grades up?

Im considering applying to some masters programs in computer science/data science/machine learning and most of the ones I've looked at require a 2:1 minimum grade. Im currently at a 2:2 due to some bad choices in my second year but i do have relevant experience in these subjects as I've had 2 summer internships relating to data science and artificial intelligence. Should i delay applying to these programs until after my first semester so that i have a chance of increasing my grade to a 2:1?
I think it's likely to be beneficial to wait if your grades aren't quite there yet.

You can always ask the uni(s) for guidance as to when they typically close to new applications.

Thanks! Networking goes a long way in terms of trying to get internships and positions. I recommend going to any careers days your uni sets up or insight days companies organise to network with people. Trying to connect with employers on LinkedIn works too! It's definitely possible to get a summer internship in your first year as long as you're persistent. Hope this helps!
