4 a levels and Oxbridge

My school is saying that I need to quit maths, but I really like it and want to continue. I want to apply for history and French at Oxford. Currently I have 3 A stars in English lit, French, history and a C In maths. I’ve done every kind of necessary supercurricular to get in and have a very impressive PS. Should I quit maths?

Your grades are looking impressive... I think you should be alright provided ur GCSEs grades were awesome and your personal statement is impressive too. Looks closely to the deadlines for applying at oxford as it is very early considering other universities. Try to increase your math gardes before the deadline so it makes close to perfect. Try to be unique

You school is giving you good advice. The fourth A level will not add anything to your chances, and there is a risk that it will drag down your overall performance.

Some posters here point out that quite a lot of people who obtain places at Oxford have four A levels, but those posters mistake correlation for causation. In your case, three are enough.

It’s also not even a relevant subject, so it’s unlikely Oxford would make an offer based on it. If anything, I think you’re right having a low prediction could drag down OP’s profile.
